A bill that would legalize sports betting in Georgia has been introduced to the state’s House of Representatives.

House Bill 86, also known as the Georgia Lottery Mobile Sports Wagering Integrity Act, would amend Chapter 27 of Title 50 of the Official Code of Georgia by adding a section on sports betting.

If the bill is passed, Georgia’s Lottery Corporation would regulate the sports betting market and would be responsible for the licensing process.

In terms of licensing, operators would pay an initial fee of $50,000 and a yearly payment of $900,000 to retain the license. Sports betting revenue would be taxed at 16%.
