Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the gambling regulatory authority of the Netherlands, has entered into a cooperation agreement with the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC).

The regulators will work collectively “to better support their respective supervisory tasks” by sharing general information and exchanging regulatory best practices on enforcement policies and licensing.

KSA Chairman René Jansen said: “Such a Memorandum of Understanding forms a good basis for sharing knowledge, collaboration and a smooth exchange of information.

“A clear signal is also given to providers of games of chance that cooperation is taking place at an international level. Online games of chance move across borders. That is why it is important for supervisors to work together.”

Ahead of the scheduled launch of the Netherlands’ regulated KOA online gambling regime on October 1, the KSA continues to expand its cooperative agreements with counterpart European regulatory agencies.

Last year, KSA formed new collaborative partnerships with France’s Autorité Nationale des Jeux (ANJ), the Belgium Gambling Commission (BGC), Sweden’s Gambling Inspectorate Spelinspektionen and the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).
