The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has issued a notice addressed to those entities which offer licensable games in or from Malta without an authorisation from the MGA.
The MGA’s Gaming Authorisations Regulations state that any person who has an authorisation issued by a Member State of the EU or the EEA, or any other state which is deemed by the MGA to offer safeguards largely equivalent to those offered by Maltese law, may be able to apply to the MGA for a recognition notice.
The MGA has issued the notice to those entities which have been operating in contravention of the abovementioned regulations to come forward by 14 April 2023, and self-report their administrative non-compliance. The MGA has announced that it will consider this act of disclosure when giving an administrative decision in this regard.
