Ukraine’s Gambling Bill Proposes Certain Requirements for iGaming

The new gambling bill of Ukraine has proposed certain requirements for the operations of online casinos, bookmakers and poker rooms. These types of activities will require a special license.

The bill allows offering gambling via websites and applications on different operating systems. Opertors will need to own or have the right to use one or more domain names in the .UA domain zone.

Online operators must provide full information about the name, location, identification data, licenses, the procedure for paying out winnings, as well as a warning about the ban on the game for people under 18 years of age.

The bill prescribes a special procedure for identifying players on the Internet. Users will register using a scanned copy of a passport or other identification document or using MobileID or BankID technologies. The company must determine the age of the user before the first payout of the winning.

A player can add funds to his online account in several ways, including cash and non-cash money, electronic funds and so on. Payouts of winnings and return of funds will be made in non-cash form through gambling operator’s systems.

Online casino systems must be connected to online monitoring. This monitoring will control the flow of funds, their flow to the budget, as well as prevent money laundering.
